NAGAAA 2018 TAMPA BAY GAY SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES
Tampa Bay Hosts NAGAAA 2018 Gay Softball World Series in September
Thousands of players and fans from the US and Canada will visit Tampa from Sept. 3rd – 8th
TAMPA BAY, FL, April 9 — For the first time in NAGAAA’s 42-year history, Tampa Bay will host the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance’s (NAGAAA) 2018 Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) from Sept. 3rd-8th and will showcase our region in ways that will leave a lasting impression and create treasured memories for all involved. We call on the support of the entire Greater Tampa Bay Community to host thousands of participants that will take part in the 2018 GSWS.
Over 200 of these teams with 5,000+ players and fans participate in NAGAAA GSWS annually, hosted in a different member city each year. While the primary focus of NAGAAA remains the organized athletic competition of gay softball, NAGAAA is also committed to helping the community. NAGAAA raises thousands of dollars through its annual fundraising event held each year during the Gay Softball World Series. The money supports various local HIV/AIDS organizations, as well as other local non-profits in the city hosting that year’s GSWS.
We also need hundreds of volunteers to assist us with the various events occurring throughout the week as well as helping at each of the five softball complexes. These events include an Opening Ceremony at Curtis Hixon Park on Sept. 3rd, the Hall of Fame Dinner at the Florida Aquarium on Sept. 4th, the Charity Fundraiser benefitting local LGBTQ organizations on Sept. 5th, and finally the Closing Party at the Cuban Club in Ybor on Sept. 8th.
Member city leagues across the United States and Canada compete in six divisions of play - A, B, C, D, Masters Classic and Masters Legends. Find out more about NAGAAA at nagaaasoftball.org.
